Demo Scenario: Issuing and Using a vID

Context

  1. After visiting the Registration Centre and giving your biometric details a UIN, unique ID is generated. This is sent to the citizen via email.

  2. The Resident can login to the resident portal using the UIN.

Resident Portal (Issue vID)

  1. Resident portal is a public portal that is used to manage e-id or update, demographics can be updated.

  2. To Login to resident portal use e-signet.

  3. Click “Log-in with e-signet”

  4. Click “Log-in here” and enter the ID that was generated 6738037931 to login as a Resident.

  5. Enter 111111 as One Time Password (OTP)

  6. Give consent on the consent page.

You will now be successfully logged in as a Resident and will be redirected to a login portal page.

  1. You can get a personalized card by clicking on “manage My VID”.

  2. Click on “Manage my VID”.

  3. There are options to generate a virtual VID, you can use this in places where you do not want to use the actual VID due to security reasons or privacy concerns.

  4. Virtual ID could be either perpetual VID or temporary VID.

  5. Temporary VID can be created by clicking on “Create” next to Temporary VID.

  6. You will then see a message confirming the creation of the temporary VID.

  7. You can then view the Temporary VID

  1. You can see the expiry on the temporary VID, generally these are valid for one day or only for a single transaction.

  2. The Temporary VID can be used multiple times until expiry.

  3. Press the Download card option near the Temporary VID.

  1. Click on “confirm” when you are asked “Are you sure you want to download Temporary VID?”

  2. It takes some time to load. You can view the progress in “View my History”

  3. Click on “Event Id”: 1372787322202762 and then click on “View Details”.

You will be redirected to a “Track my Request” page where you can now click on “Download VID”.

 

  1. Click on the “Downloaded VID” document.

  2. It is a password protected page. Enter your password. It is combination of first 4 letters of your name and Date of birth year. In the sandbox installation it is JASO1995.

  3. You will now see the Temporary VID credentials which you will need for the Health Portal.

Health Portal (Use vID)

  1. Sign with e-signet.

  2. Click on “Log in with OTP”.

  3. Enter your VID and click on Get OTP.

  1. Enter OTP 111111.

  2. You will be redirected to Consent page, where you can click on what consent you want to give.

  3. Give consent for Email, Date of Birth and Address.

  1. Click on “Allow”.

  2. Redirection to the Health Portal.

  1. Only data given consent to will be seen in the health portal as only this will be shared.

  2. Click on user face on the side and you will be able to DOB, Email and Address data.
