2025-06-30 Governance Committee Meeting Notes
This page describes the GovStack meeting notes. We use this meeting page to both run the meeting and keep notes, actions and decisions.
To avoid long meeting where the current status of each report is read out, we ask all participants to read the links below before the meeting, add in any questions they may have and then ask them in the meeting. This will focus the meeting upon the questions, decisions and actions needed for greatest impact.

Women in GovTech Challenge 2025 |
| Congratulations on the successful work. The Women in GovTech Challenge engaged 207 participants, including 155 mentors and 53 mentees, with only 22 dropouts marking one of the highest retention rates achieved in virtual training programs of this kind. The initiative was recognized for its strong impact and sustained commitment from the community. Looking ahead, the official launch of the Women in GovTech Challenge report and the new “Women in GovTech Ambassadors” initiative is confirmed for next week at WSIS. Mei Lin Fung has accepted the ambassador role. Positive feedback from participants and the anticipation for upcoming in-person events underscore the strength and momentum of this growing network. |

GovSpecs 2.0. GovStack specifications vision and strategy for 2025-2027 |
| The GovSpecs 2.0 strategy received targeted feedback by the 30 June deadline, resulting in the inclusion of two key elements: high-level architecture principles and a compliance and validation framework. The inputs from Hani, Nico, Ali, and David were especially valuable. Final revisions are in progress before submitting the strategy to the Governance Committee for endorsement. The group also discussed the potential evolution of GovStack specifications toward international standardization. It was acknowledged that this objective lies beyond the current scope of the GovSpecs strategy. However, there was consensus on the importance of differentiating specifications as adaptable guidance from standards as enforceable instruments for interoperability. The topic will be revisited, with a clearer roadmap and defined roles to inform any future standardization efforts. |

1.07 Advisory Board preparations |
| Preparations for the 1 July Advisory Board meeting included reviewing the draft presentation, assigning speakers, and agreeing to keep slides minimal, given the pre-read deck had been shared in advance. The agenda will focus on country engagement progress, outcomes from the Women in GovTech Challenge, 2025 priorities, and the introduction of new Advisory Board members. |
