In 2024, GovStack launched its official quarterly News Update. For 2024, we expect to send News Updates on:
end of June / early July
end of Sept / early Oct
end of Dec / early Jan
The New Update is a round-up of past activities from the quarter, upcoming activities we want to promote for the next quarter, and any calls to action for our audience.
The process:
Comms Huddle collects content for the newsletter, using this Template for gathering information.docx
Comms Huddle edits the content to desired format in MailChimp
Comms Huddle downloads the latest sign-ups from the website into MailChimp to add to our overall audience
(WordPress) Forms → Newsletter Form → Entries → Export Entries → CSV file
(MailChimp) Audience → Manage Audience → Import Contacts → Upload a file (it will automatically de-duplicate the list with any current subscribers)
Test emails are sent to Comms Huddle members to preview, test, and catch any typos, formatting issues, etc.
Email is scheduled
Post-send analytics are reviewed in the Comms Huddle
