Overview

The governance committee consists of representatives of GovStack’s founding partners and is responsible for the implementation of GovStack’s mission. It approves significant actions within the Initiative, monitors, reviews, and informs the wider community on ongoing activities. The Committee works in conjunction with the Product and Technical committees.

Functions

  • Monitor and review major activities within the Initiative at regular Governance Committee meetings 

  • Provide assistance to partners and members of the community through coordination and collaboration 

  • Reach consensus on the scope and direction of the Initiative as emergent issues force changes to be considered, ensuring that the scope aligns with the agreed vision of the Initiative and key stakeholder groups 

  • Identify teams required to implement the aims of the project and charter and empower those teams as required with a clear scope of their work 

  • Maintain a public list of current and potential implementations 

  • Vote as necessary on issues requiring Governance Committee approval 

  • Reviewing, managing, and reconciling overall budgetary allocation and spend 

  • Review and approve role definitions and staffing needs across committees and working groups 

  • Review and manage overall organizational structure
