Service Blocks

@Wes Brown

10 min

Example Service Block: https://github.com/GovStackWorkingGroup/product-use-cases/blob/service-block/service-block/registration.md

Comments

  • Steve: It was originally envisioned to have different scopes and be able to reference other service blocks. For example, within the registration process getting user consent may happen multiple times. Rather than defining those interactions multiple times, they could be defined in another Service Block and referenced in the Registration Service Block. Not sure where to put these references and if they should be called out in a specific place within the step

  • Steve: Would it be helpful to have deeper links to the BBs? Could we link to the specific APIs that would be involved from each BB?

    • Wes: I’m not sure that this would provide enough value to justify the data entry.

    • Steve: We should just try creating (and using) the Service Block and see

  • Nico: The term “Example Implementation” is confusing as it implies more specificity than these Service Block would be able to define

  • Nico: Could be helpful to link to UI/UX patterns as well, if there is one that should be used
