Introduction by Kristo

Kristo Vaher, the CTO for the GovStack Initiative, presented his reflections on GovStack and GovStack technology. IDBB Status Update

Smita Selot presented the progress on the identity white paper, detailing the addition of an ID mapper and Pset for authentication. She emphasized the importance of partner onboarding and the development of APIs for policy setting, highlighting the diverse types of partners such as banking and telecom partners. Wesley Brown raised questions about the timeline for publishing the content and expressed concern about the review process. The discussion highlighted the importance of a clear review process and the need for visibility into the changes made to the content.

 

Payments Building Block

Vijay presented an overview of the Phase 2 work for the payment building block, emphasizing the exploration of G2B and B2G payment use cases, multi-currency support, and integration with DPI. They elaborated on specific use cases for G2B and B2G payments, including government loans, repayments, taxation, and customs duty, while also highlighting the collaborative nature of the ongoing work and the call for contributions from interested parties. The projected timeline for completion of the work is extended until the end of 2024, with a focus on documenting APIs and outputs by November or December.

 

Cloud and Infrastructure Building Block

Kurt Garloff, along with @Friederike Zelke, presented the first draft of the cloud-building block document, emphasizing the collaborative effort with the Gafsig initiative and the importance of digital sovereignty. The document covers the architecture, functional requirements, and cross-cutting requirements, highlighting the hardware management layer, virtualization layer, container layer, and operational tooling. The presentation underscored the project's focus on open source technologies, building standards, and the aim to create digitally sovereign infrastructure for running clouds and container infrastructure.
