Discussion on infrastructure requirements for deploying BB implementations in the Sandbox environment and approach for creating BB instances in the Sandbox. | Follow-up on the discussion in the architecture group that led to increased clarity on how to deploy building block instances within the sandbox and its relationship with the Information Mediator (IM). The Gofore team is working on setting up the required permissions and access control for the sandbox common environment. Technoforte, Mifos, and Nortal teams are awaiting the provisioning of EC2 instances to start or continue their deployments. Lack of infrastructure is currently a blocker for their progress. Each BB provider expressed their implementation level challenges, particularly with using Circle CI for deployment, where MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) was causing issues with running pipelines. Need for a larger infrastructure to accommodate the deployment requirements. The Sandbox team is expecting about 15 EC2 nodes, and they are open to increasing this number if necessary. Discussed plans for interfacing the BB implementations with the X-Road server and configuring services for access via subsystems in the common playground. The intention is to have a synchronized and seamless deployment. Discussion about whether there will be one security server for all three building blocks or if there will be separate security servers for each block. The deployment progress and the integration of the emulator into the use case were discussed, with a plan to switch over to the working version of the building blocks in the next two weeks.

Next steps for Sandbox <> BB integration | Plans to start integration of BB implementations into the Sandbox USCT emulator over the next two weeks. Need ensure that the BB integration goes smoothly and is completed by September. Gofore team is working on setting up the required permissions and access control for the Sandbox common environment. However, they are facing challenges with infrastructure, which is delaying the deployment of building block instances.

Future planning and Integration of Test Harness and Emulator | Concerns around the lack of clear estimates and planning beyond September. There is need to ensure meaningful projections, budgeting, and alignment with the project's goals and deadlines. Discussed need for optimizing resources and avoiding duplication of efforts. Ramkumar suggested collaborating on common strategies and developing an approach document for future implementations, especially the need to converge the test harness and emulator strategies, keeping in mind the long-term view and reusability of resources. Emulators are considered reference implementations of the API specifications, and they are important for proving the concept of building blocks and infrastructure. Vasil discussed the need for a strategy around incrementally developing API specifications based on future use case requirements and implementations. Need to document the reasons behind certain decisions to provide reference and clarity for future development.
