Suggestions on Future Focus and Resourcing

@Wes Brown

15 min (strict)

Timeframe: Oct23-Jun24

What should we (GovStack) be focusing on after September?

  • @PSRAMKUMAR

    • Capitalise on what we have built so far. We have just started to showcase the BBs in seminars, sandbox etc, getting feedback and adding correction to improve the specs.

    • We are encountering new BBs which are important to complete user journeys. For example: in USCT, we have realy just explored the registration process. acoounting is a vital BB when considering cash transfer. Going forward we are bound to find more BBs from our real world XP. We will come across real world BBs, like the Digital vault from Egypt, we can learn from such cases.

    • Through interaction with coutnries, if we can encourage GovStack growth, it will truely make GovStack global.

  • @Taylor Downs

    • Software engagement: the gap between the specs and software/systems that can be deployed. We should invest in devloping adapters and showing that systems can be built using DPGs that adhear to the specs. Find the current limitiations for the specs, compliance and testing approach.

    • @Wes Brown from my XP in Kenya, there is interest in how products can omply with GovStack.

What resources do we need to do that well?

  • @Wes Brown

  • @PSRAMKUMAR Since the teams are smaller, folks will have to wear more than one hat. We need to have internal resources to integrate etc.

  • @Wes Brown we need 4-6 FTEs.

  • @Nico Lueck @Wes Brown @Steve Conrad We started with the obj. of getting the first version of pecs out. The use cases can help WGs focus on what is needed. For the foundational BBs we can come with a better process to create a BB in 3-4 months and not any longer than that.

    • @PSRAMKUMAR The countries already have their deliverables and we need to align with this. We cant impose our priorities on them. Eg: We must be agile, we might have to be more agile to meet acording to the requriements of the needs of the country so we are there when they need us.

  • @Nico Lueck We need to ensure that APIs work, that they are generic, as intended.

  • @Rachel Lawson (Unlicensed) All the specs and APIs are theoretical, until they are implemented in a country.

Market Linkage Use Case

@Sainabou Jallow

 5 min

Market Linkage Use Case review: GitBook

  • Updates are complete based on previous meeting

    • @Taylor Downs maybe e-marketplace is an important part of this use case. Are we saying that the e-Marketplace BB, made from ID, IM, Scheduler? Is e-Marketpace a solution that can support this use case? This use case isnt similar to the ususal e-Marketplace.

    • @Wes Brown this use case isnt ment to eb 1 to 1 to what e-Markeplace BB.

    • @Sainabou Jallow shouldnt e-Marketplace be a use case, rather than a BB?

      • @PSRAMKUMAR The linkage isnt a part of the e-marketplace BB

    • @Steve Conrad there is a potential; hierarchical issue here. We can be clear and state that e-Marketplace is an e-procurement BB, in short its scope needs to be understood.

    • @Wes Brown agrees with @Steve Conrad The BBs focus should be as narrow as possible. and this use case finds certain aspects of the BB that might be inline with the use case.

    • @Nico Lueck the BB are ment to cover certain functionalities that the use cases can purpose to their needs. Thus saving the use cases effort since they dont need to start from scratch.

    • @Wes Brown perhaps this needs to be a seperate discussion @PSRAMKUMAR

    • @PSRAMKUMAR This use case looks more like P2G, which is not covered in the BB, yet.
