GovStack 2023 Use Case Focus

Add some context before the first question. Why are we doing this, how will this be used, make a webpage in the GovStack explaining the exercise and invite the community to participate.

Move to the same service as is being used for the Women in GovStack survey (reach out to Yolanda for info)

Proposed 2023 Roadmap

@Wes Brown

Questions

  • Margus: Should the SDG Digital Framework be part of some kind of associated documents similar to the Playbook and GERA? The SDG digital framework document is similar to the Playbook and GERA. Margus suggests that the SDG document, Playbook, and GERA should complement each other, potentially with revisions and collaborative efforts must be established.

  • BB waves are currently in progress. There will be a feedback round until August, followed by another version public release, hopefully by September.
In the upcoming weeks, we will determine how Workflows should be developed, whether as a separate entity or integrated with existing processes.

Version Numbering

10 min

Potential Options:

Simple Numbering: 1, 2, 3, etc

Semantic: 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 2.0.1

Date: 2023.05, 2023.09

Date Numeric: 2023.1, 2023.2

Date Quarterly: 23Q2, 24Q1

Comments

  • Steve: Semantic versioning doesn’t really apply for this type of product; am fine moving away from it. Suggest Date Numeric or Date Quarterly

  • Jaume: We may want to get on a specific cadence for publication

  • Pawel: It may be helpful to ensure that the BB also references which overall GovStack publication it is included with

  • Pawel: We need publication mascots!!! Possibly inspired by Chinese yearly animals according to Sheramn. Margus finds this politically delicate matter.

Next Steps

  1. Get feedback from survey

    1. Try to identify use cases that will highlight the value of the GovStack approach

  2. Identify potential use cases in each sector

    1. Find volunteers to analyze sectors and identify potential use cases

  3. Decide on which use cases to prioritize for the next (post-1.0) publication

  4. Present use case in GC get it approved

  5. Launch the campaign
