2023-09-18 Governance Committee Meeting

This page describes the GovStack Governance Committee meeting notes. We use this meeting page to both run the meeting and keep notes, actions, and decisions.

To avoid long meetings where the current status of each report is read out, we ask all participants to read the links below before the meeting, add in any questions they may have, and then ask them in the meeting. This will focus the meeting upon the questions, decisions, and actions needed for greatest impact.

New processes and roles for specification development - @Rachel Lawson (Unlicensed) (25 mins)

  • @Rachel Lawson (Unlicensed) proposed process for a scenario with limited resources.

    • Folks find the platforms and process very complex . People shouldnt have to atend meetings to be able to contrivute

    • @Nico Lueck this reflects an ideal cenario. It would be more challenging with limited resources, for the next month, it will be interesting to see where we want to go with the target of the specifications. Once we know were we are going, we can refer this approach.

    • @Nico Lueck requests @PSRAMKUMAR @Wes Brown and @Steve Conrad to inform where are heading with the specifications.

    • @Wes Brown we need to scope our work on specifications based on things that can be done on the specifications depending on the resources that we have on hand.

    • The following is a takeaway from the previous meeting note:

      • Technical Committee needs to understand what resources are available to them

        • Technical writer, Ainn to support consent BB deployment in Sandbox

        • Payments supervising the deployment of Payments Bb on Sandbox

        • Samita supporting ID BB deployment in Sandbox

    • @Sarah Fischer let's think about 3 different scenarios, their cost and impact. This is an additional process and makes it easier to the GC to decide how much resources we are able and want to mobilise.

    • @Nico Lueck We should have a discussion about this specifically then. My expectation is that much of the Spec work (and use case work) still needs a LOT of work, both for new and existing BBs.

    • @PSRAMKUMAR has been working on the things that working groups can do, and will keep working on this for the comming two weeks.

      • @Wes Brown this needs to be a colaborative process.,

      • @Nico Lueck agrees with @Wes Brown and (S)GC needs to know what ALL or different focuses means in terms of resources. In order to either de-priotize other things or at least to balance among all GovStack activities.

      • @PSRAMKUMAR will work on this alone and will present it in the GC to seek views and input.

    • @Rachel Lawson (Unlicensed) requests all to read the wiki, it does consider the scenarios which @PSRAMKUMAR and @Sarah Fischer and others have described. It makes accomodations for these scenarios. This has been developed from feedback from a variety of folk, its a model that is followed elsewhere, thus folks should be already familir with it.

Update Org. Structure (5min, Nico)

  • Status of Teams which filled out their canvas

  • Notice that I’ll invite these teams in the upcoming GC and PC meetings

  • 9 canvaces need to be filled, all are requested to complete them.

  • @Nico Lueck will approach folk

Current status

 https://exchange.dial.global/opportunities/call_for_digital_products_to_imp CMS now listed

  • Release coming up soon that will include the Radar and comparision tool (This compares 2 or 3 products on their stats that are on the exchange) among other.

  • @Margus Mägi it refers to DIAL exchange, it might give an inmpression that all the products there are related to GovStack.

  • @Sarah Farooqi we have a badge for this exact situation.

  • If we wish to use Wordpress, there needs to be a way that allows it to read the exchange platform

  • There is another option of white labeling.

  • @Nico Lueck Until we decide how to deal on a way forward, lets mark it as “Under construction”.

  • @Margus Mägi We could also just refer to DIAL exchange, but create a landing page with a disclaimer.

  • @Sarah Farooqi agrees with @Margus Mägi we already have a GovStack header, if the content of the page is provided, we can get it up asap.
