2024-01-22 Governance Committee Meeting Notes

This page describes the GovStack meeting notes. We use this meeting page to both run the meeting and keep notes, actions and decisions.

To avoid long meeting where the current status of each report is read out, we ask all participants to read the links below before the meeting, add in any questions they may have and then ask them in the meeting. This will focus the meeting upon the questions, decisions and actions needed for greatest impact.

We need to understand the scope of engagement with countries.

We are looking for complementary solutions

Actions

We need to have a discussion on the question in how far GovStack keeps on being agnostic to solutions (open source and commercial) and which issues are coming up when working with commercial solutions (e.g. the need for NDAs).

3. Team Updates and Opportunities for Strategic Decisions

Communication Team Canvas

@Arielle Diamond

  • Editorial update: blog post coming on the Whitepaper on Gender Inclusion (GIZ)

  • Upcoming launches: WSIS prize (pending approvals) and Compliance tool

  • Longterm comms project:

    • Website translation

      • This will most likely be a grassroots effort - keeping most of the web development and translation in-house as much as possible. It will likely require some budget to install Wordpress plug-ins. Comms will present a proposal for consideration and approval. Prioritizing French and Spanish.

    • 2024 Newsletter coming soon (March)

      • Quarterly newsletter to our mailing list

Retreat in Brussels on 19th of March @Hans Christian Ende

Nele would maybe need to attend the Summit For Democracy (South Korea) and therefore might not be able to attend the retreat partially. There is a possibility to organize a meeting in Seoul on the topic of GovStack. Deadline for the submission of a panel is until the end of this week (26.01)
